  7. Why doesn't my special interest group (i.e. Students in USC Housing, International Students, cultural groups) have representation on the Senate or Executive Board?
Like your local, state, and federal governments, GPSS has a one person, one vote policy. At the other forms of government, the lowest common denominator is your residency. Within the graduate and professional schools, it is our academic unit. Every student has a senator based on their primary academic unit. However, our committees do represent the needs of special interest groups. Please see our Committees webpage to learn more about our committees. If you don't see a committee there that represents you, you can always suggest an ad hoc committee to the Vice President, gpssvp@usc.edu.

  8. Will GPSS come to our lobbying day for unionization, taxes on TA stipends,
or any other related graduate student political issue? Will GPSS write a
letter in support or make a statement in support of a particular political
    issue?

No. GPSS is decidedly apolitical. To learn more about this, see our official
stance on our About GPSS webpage.

  9. How am I represented in GPSS?
Each academic unit has a Senator. To find out who your Senator is, see the Senators listing.

  10. How do I know who is the Senator from my department?
Check the Senator webpage and sort the list by department. Then you will be able to look up your Senator and contact them.

  11. I used to be involved with GPSS and would love to find out what other people, whom I knew during my GPSS tenure, are doing now?
Great! We'd love to have your involvement and input. Please visit our Alumni Directory to catch up with old friends.

If your question is not answered here, please e-mail Junelle Mallari, GPSS Communications Chair, at gpsscomm@usc.edu with your question. If the question pertains generally to graduate and professional students, we will add it to our FAQs webpage. Thanks!
