Dr. Juliette Hart is a Regional Research and Planning Specialist with USC Sea Grant and is a Research Assistant Professor at USC in Marine Environmental Biology. Dr. Hart received her doctorate from USC in Ocean Sciences along with a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Engineering: Sustainable Cities. In 2007, she was a Knauss Marine Policy Fellow in Washington, D.C., where she worked at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Ocean Service. Her research interests include coastal marine policy, regional ocean governance, sustainable ecotourism, global climate science and policy, and alternative ocean energy development.
Dr. Hart's current research focuses on Catalina Island, working with the Catalina Island Conservancy to develop an Integrated Island Management Plan and a Visitor Management Framework for its current ecotourism activities. Dr. Hart also works on regional ocean governance initiatives along the west coast of the US.
