Women in Management program comes to HSC
By Ina Fried
It used to be called the “old boy network,” but women have discovered that knowing people can help them get their jobs done and advance in their careers. Women in Management has been serving that function for 30 years at USC. And now the organization will be even more accessible to women who work at the Health Sciences Campus.

Center on Communication Leadership & Policy (CCLP). Led by fellows Cinny Kennard and Stacy Smith,CCLP is a key partner in Maria Shriver’s important new project unveiled this week documenting and exploring the profound transformation of our society into what she calls "A Woman's Nation."

In The Shriver Report, Kennard, Smith and research fellow Amy Granados contributed an insightful essay, Sexy Socialization: Today's media and the next generation of women, on the media’s influence in the lives of women and girls. We also organized focus groups, contributed to outreach and consulted on the research found in the report.

Under the direction of award winning journalist and media executive Cinny Kennard, CCLP is working to launch a comprehensive program on women and communication leadership that will continue to produce impactful research and offer new training and instructional programs to foster the next generation of women leaders in media and communication. We are actively researching partnerships and sponsors for our training institute and research.
