The annual WIM scholarship recognizes and encourages women graduate students over 35 years of age and assists them in the completion of their academic goals. The scholarship reflects WIM's commitment to assist women in acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to be a leader in making a contribution to society. We seek candidates who have overcome obstacles and demonstrated strong leadership ability or potential.

Terms and Conditions

The recipient receives a scholarship award of usually $1000 and is invited to make a brief presentation at the May meeting of WIM, where she will describe her current academic progress and future goals. WIM reserves the right not to make an award.

Eligibility:

• Applicant must be a female graduate student age 35 or older as of March 31 of the current year with a minimum 3.0 cumulative graduate GPA.
• Applicants enrolled in M.A. programs must have completed a minimum of 8 graduate units at USC by the time of application.
• Applicants enrolled in Ph.D. programs must have completed a minimum of 16 graduate units at USC by the time of application.
• USC faculty and staff employed half time or more are not eligible for this award.
• Anticipated completion of degree must be one year or more after the current year.
