Luncheon with Senior-Level Women Leaders

In 2004, eleven top women administrators agreed to become Honorary Members of WIM, and to meet with WIM members once a year for luncheon in small groups for interaction and discussion of topics of mutual interest. Among topics recently discussed at ten different tables, each with an Honorary Member and a WIM facilitator, were, "Most important career-enhancing strategies," "Hot button topics in her field," "Most valuable problem-solving strategies," "University's new Strategic Plan," "Challenges and opportunities in her field," "USC's current government relations issues," "Strengths and weakness of various budgeting structures in higher education," "Advice for moving up the ladder of academic administration," "USC's damage control plan," and "Balancing work and family."

The Honorary Members are: Brenda Barnes, President of KUSC Radio; Marilyn L. Flynn, Dean of the School of Social Work; Karen Symms Gallagher, Dean of the Rossier School of Education; Martha Harris, Senior Vice President of University Relations; Rabbi Susan Laemmle, Dean of Religious Life; Janis B. McEldowney, Associate Senior Vice President for Administrative Operations; Sarah Pratt, Dean of Academic Programs, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences; Madeline Puzo, Dean of the School of Theater; Barbara Solomon, Vice Provost for Faculty Diversity (retired); Carolyn Webb de Macias, Vice President for External Relations; Ruth Weisberg, Dean of the School of Fine Arts.
