Los Angeles, California 90033

Founded in 1878 and a partner of the Keck School of Medicine of USC since 1885, Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center is among the largest teaching hospitals in the country and one of the busiest public hospitals west of the Mississippi. Staffed by more than 500 full-time faculty of the Keck School and approximately 900 medical residents in training, LAC+USC serves 39,000 inpatients and 750,000 outpatients annually. Among its specialized facilities and services is a state-of-the-art burn center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, Level I trauma service, and a HIV/AIDS outpatient center.

A new 1.5 million-square-foot facility was opened in 2008 to replace the famous Art Deco building that served as LAC+USC’s home since 1933. The new facility boasts state-of-the-art equipment and design features, and is home to one of the largest emergency rooms in the country. The 600-bed hospital features a seven-story outpatient tower hosting two dozen specialty clinics, including psychiatry, ophthalmology, dentistry and orthopedics, and an eight-story inpatient tower that houses the hospital’s acute care and intensive care units.
