One of only a few facilities in Southern California built exclusively for cancer research and patient care, the USC Norris Cancer Hospital is a 60-bed inpatient facility providing acute and critical care. The hospital features a designated bone marrow transplantation unit and a surgical unit, in addition to chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The radiation oncology department is equipped with a CyberKnife® and a Varian Trilogy™ Linear Accelerator, and offers state-of-the-art treatments such as stereotactic radiosurgery, intensity modulated radiation therapy and image guided radiation therapy.
The close affiliation between the hospital and the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center offers immediate benefit to patients seeking the latest breakthroughs in cancer prevention and treatment such as immunotherapy and gene therapy. Both facilities, owned and operated by the University of Southern California, are staffed by The Doctors of USC, who are also faculty at the renowned Keck School of Medicine of USC.
USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of only 40 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers nationwide. USC Norris researchers are leaders in basic research on the origins and prevention of cancer and the development of novel therapies for cancer.
