Fees

Campus Filming Production Fee

This fee grants you a license to film on the USC campus and includes one filming liaison to be with you for all aspects of production, including pre-production scouting, walk throughs, tech scouts, and day-of oversight. These fees are charged from the arrival of the first production vehicle to the departure of the last production vehicle. All other costs, including location rental fees and personnel, are separate.

**In an effort to help alleviate the difficulties of this economic time, please note that beginning January 1, 2009, we will be reducing our filming fees. We hope this temporary change will make it easier on your budget. Reduced fees are reflected below.**

  • Still Photography: $2500 for the first 15 hours; $250 per hour thereafter
  • Internet Spots/Industrials: $3500 for the first 15 hours; $350 per hour thereafter
  • Television Series: $5500 for the first 15 hours; $550 per hour thereafter
  • Commercials/Mini-Series/Movies of the Week: $6500 for the first 15 hours; $650 per hour thereafter
  • Feature Film: $8000 for the first 15 hours; $800 per hour thereafter
  • Spec Spots/Documentaries/PSA's: $100 per hour flat
  • Set-Up/Strike Days: 50% of the above listed costs for your type of production

Note that some locations below require site representatives at an additional fee. Fees listed are subject to change without notification.

Interior Locations

  • Auditoria:
    • Bovard: $630/Hr plus personnel
  • Classrooms/Lecture Halls: $200/hour
  • Town and Gown (formal dining/ballroom): $3000/day (waived if catered)
  • Libraries: $5000/day plus personnel

Athletic Facilities

  • Baseball Stadium (no dugout): $2400/day plus personnel
  • Basketball Gyms: $3150/day (large);$1500/day (small)
  • Jones Football Practice Field (no bleachers): $1500/day
  • Intramural Field: $1200/day
  • Pools:
    • Diving: $1800/day plus personnel
    • Olympic: $2400/day plus personnel
    • Indoor: $1800/day plus personnel
  • Racquetball Courts: $180/day
  • Tennis Stadium: $1200/day
  • Track and Field: $500/day (track only); $2100/day (field included)
  • Galen Center:
    • Arena (10,258 capacity): $7500/day plus personnel
    • Conference Room: $50/hour
    • Founders Club (400 capacity): $200/hour
    • Founders Patio: $50/hour
    • Media Workroom: $75/hour
    • Pavilion Auditorium (48 capacity): $75/hour
    • Practice Pavilion: $2000/day per section
    • Other Areas: Quoted on Request

Exterior Locations

  • Parking Structure: $8 per space
  • Walkways: $55 per hour
  • Small Parks: $55 per hour
  • Large Parks: $110 per hour
  • Courtyards: $55 per hour
  • Quads: $135 per hour
  • Small Plazas: $55 per hour
  • Large Plazas: $135 per hour

Personnel Costs

  • Campus Filming Liaison: One liaison included in Campus Filming Fee
  • Additional Liaisons: $75 per hour overtime rates apply after 8 hours (needed if production is over 50 people or utilizing more than one location)
  • Student Assistant Liaison: $50 per hour overtime rates apply after 8 hours (needed if production is over 75 people or utilizing more than two locations)
  • USC Security Officer: $50 per hour, per officer
  • Site Manager: $35 per hour (in effect if a location requires that a member of their own staff be present during filming)
  • Lifeguard: $15-$20 per hour (required when filming in or around any of the pools)

Parking Fees

  • Parking spaces: $8 per vehicle
  • On campus open space: $8 per vehicle
  • Metered spaces: $50 per meter per day
  • Yellow zones: $50 per day per 8' space
  • Red zone (if approved): $75 per day
  • Gate attendant: $35 per hour

Operations and Maintenance

An hourly fee ranging from $25 to $100 per hour will be charged for any maintenance-related work. This includes items such air conditioner, fountain, or light turn-off or -on. These services must be requested at least 48 hours prior to the first day of production. An itemized list of services and prices is available upon request.

Cancellation Fee

A fee equal to 50% of all Campus Filming-related fees (prep/strike, production, rush, personnel) will be charged if the cancellation occurs after the contract has been signed or within 4 working days of the scheduled shoot (excluding weekends), regardless of if a contract is in affect or not. If the cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the scheduled shoot, all fees will be billed at 100%. In either case, if any location has been reserved or any departmental personnel booked (aside from those within the Campus Filming office), those fees will be billed at their full rate.

Rush Fee

In order to ensure that all approvals are gotten and your shoot is arranged up to your expectations, we required that a fully completed application be into our office no less than 7 working days prior to the first day or prep day of shooting. We also require that a final tech scout be done no less than 4 working days prior to the first day of prep or shoot. Should either of these items occur later than these deadlines, a per item rush fee of 10% of your Campus Filming Production Fee will be charged.
