Fees

Campus Licensing Fee

This fee grants you a license to film on the USC campus. These fees are charged from the arrival of the first production vehicle to the departure of the last production vehicle. All other costs, including location rental fees and personnel, are separate.

  • Feature Film: $9000 for the first 15 hours; $900 per hour thereafter
  • Commercials/Mini-Series/Movies of the Week: $7500 for the first 15 hours; $750 per hour thereafter
  • Television Series: $6000 for the first 15 hours; $600 per hour thereafter
  • Internet Spots/Industrials: $4000 for the first 15 hours; $400 per hour thereafter
  • Still Photography: $3000 for the first 15 hours; $300 per hour thereafter
  • Spec Spots/Documentaries/PSA's: $100 per hour flat
  • Set-Up/Strike Days: 50% of the above listed costs for your type of production

Location Rental Costs

Note that some locations below require site representatives at an additional fee. Fees listed are subject to change without notification.

Interior Locations

  • Auditoria:
    • Bovard: $5000/day plus personnel
    • Annenberg: $2000/day plus personnel
  • Classrooms/Lecture Halls: $100/hour
  • Town and Gown (formal dining/ballroom): $3000/day (waived if catered)
  • Libraries: $5000/day plus personnel
  • Topping Student Center: $315/hour plus personnel

Athletic Facilities

  • Baseball Stadium (no dugout): $2400/day plus personnel
  • Basketball Gyms: $3150/day (large);$1500/day (small)
  • Jones Football Practice Field (no bleachers): $1500/day
  • Intramural Field: $1200/day
  • Pools:
    • Diving: $1800/day plus personnel
    • Olympic: $2400/day plus personnel
    • Indoor: $1800/day plus personnel
  • Racquetball Courts: $180/day
  • Tennis Stadium: $1200/day
  • Track and Field: $500/day (track only); $2100/day (field included)
  • Galen Center:
    • Arena (10,258 capacity): $15,000/day plus personnel
    • Conference Room: $50/hour
    • Founders Club (400 capacity): $200/hour
    • Founders Patio: $50/hour
    • Media Workroom: $75/hour
    • Pavilion Auditorium (48 capacity): $75/hour
    • Practice Pavilion: $2000/day per section
    • Other Areas: Quoted on Request

Exterior Locations

  • Parking Structure: $100 per hour plus $8 per space
  • Walkways: $50 per hour
  • Small Parks: $50 per hour
  • Large Parks: $100 per hour
  • Courtyards: $50 per hour
  • Quads: $125 per hour
  • Small Plazas: $50 per hour
  • Large Plazas: $125 per hour

Personnel Costs

  • Campus Filming Liaison: $75 per hour overtime rates apply after 8 hours
  • Second Liaison: $75 per hour overtime rates apply after 8 hours (needed if production is over 50 people or utilizing more than one location)
  • Student Assistant Liaison: $25 per hour overtime rates apply after 8 hours (needed if production is over 75 people or utilizing more than two locations)
  • USC Security Officer: $50 per hour, per officer
  • Site Manager: $35 per hour (in effect if a location requires that a member of their own staff be present during filming)
  • Lifeguard: $15-$20 per hour (required when filming in or around any of the pools)

Parking Fees

  • Parking spaces: $8 per vehicle
  • On campus open space: $8 per vehicle
  • Metered spaces: $50 per meter per day
  • Yellow zones: $50 per day per 8' space
  • Red zone (if approved): $75 per day
  • Science parking lot: $300 per day (6 spaces)
  • Old Gate 2 parking area: $350 per day
  • Watt Way loading zone: $500 per day (10 spaces)
  • Lot 5: $1000 per day (22 spaces)
  • Gate attendant: $35 per hour

Operations and Maintenance

An hourly fee ranging from $25 to $100 per hour will be charged for any maintenance-related work. This includes items such air conditioner, fountain, or light turn-off or -on. These services must be requested at least 48 hours prior to the first day of production. An itemized list of services and prices is available upon request.

Cancellation Fee

A fee equal to 50% of the regular Campus Licensing Fee rate will be charged if the cancellation occurs after the contract has been signed or within 48 hours of the scheduled shoot (excluding weekends), regardless of if a contract is in effect or not. If a rental facility has been reserved, or security personnel booked, those fees will also be billed.
