Judith Blumenthal

Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations
University of Southern California

Judith Blumenthal is Associate Vice President, Alumni Relations at the University of Southern California, where she also holds a faculty position in the Marshall School's Department of Management and Organization. As Associate Vice President, Alumni Relations, Dr. Blumenthal is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing diverse programs to connect and serve more than 200,000 USC alumni, lifelong and worldwide. Programs include volunteer initiatives, electronic communications, national and international club activities, major campus events, distance learning, career services, and travel programs.

From 1996 until early 2000, Dr. Blumenthal served as Associate Dean and Executive Director of the Marshall MBA for Professionals and Managers (MBA.PM) and Executive MBA (EMBA) Programs. She received her MBA and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Southern California. Before returning to USC in 1996, she served as a professor of management at California State University, Northridge for eight years.

Dr. Blumenthal has approximately 25 years experience working with organizations in the areas of strategic management, international management, and organizational development, both as an in-house executive and external consultant. She has held senior human resource management and organizational development positions within manufacturing, financial and retailing organizations. She has also served as a consultant to clients in the US and Europe, assisting them in strategic and organizational planning and implementation.

Dr. Blumenthal has published articles on a variety of management topics, and has presented numerous papers at conferences in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Her research has emphasized the management of joint ventures and service organizations. Her areas of expertise include Executive Education, International Management, Joint Venture Management, Organizational Development and Strategic Management.
