Established the world-class quality and productivity. Produced 8 million cassette recorders for the international market.
President and CEO, Daewoo Automotive Components Co. June 1985 to Feb. 1991 Joint venture (50/50) between Daewoo and General Motors. Main customers: Daewoo Motors, Opel, Toyota, Honda, Saturn, Hyundai and Kia.
President and CEO, Daewoo Electronics Co. March 1991 to Dec. 1997
An average growth rate 26% and domestic market share increased from 7% to 22%. Established over 100 foreign operations. Unsuccessful attempt to acquire Thomson Multimedia. Successful TV campaign "Tankism" for a corporate image of quality products.
