Robert Cutietta
Robert Cutietta is dean of the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. Prior to assuming this post in July 2002, Dr. Cutietta was director of the School of Music and Dance at the University of Arizona. Before his appointment at the University of Arizona, he has served as a faculty member at Montana State and Kent State Universities.
A specialist in music education, Dr. Cutietta has authored or co-authored five books and over fifty articles in professional publications. He is the author of the highly readable book "Raising Musical Kids: A Parent's Guide" (Oxford University Press, 2001), which has been translated into four languages--Chinese, Russian, Korean and Japanese. He is currently active as a composer writing and performing all music for the weekly television show "Lost Legends of the West."
Dr. Cutietta earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Cleveland State University in 1975 and 1978 respectively and his doctorate from Pennsylvania State University in 1982.
