Toshiaki Ogasawara

Toshiaki Ogasawara is Publisher & Chairman of The Japan Times, Limited and Chairman of Nifco Inc. After graduating from the Woodrow Wilson School of Princeton University in 1966, Toshiaki Ogasawara was appointed as the first President of Nifco, Inc. (est. 1967), and became its Chairman 2001. In 1983, he was appointed as President of The Japan Times, Limited, becoming its Chairman in 1985. Further, he was elected as the Chairman of the Ogasawara Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Engineering in 1986 and as Chairman of FM Interwave, Inc. in 1995.

In addition, he holds a position as a member of the Japan Committee for Educational Interchange (CALCUN) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, and as a director of the Japan-America Society of Tokyo, Keidanren, Keizai Doyukai, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. Mr. Ogasawara also sits on the Advisory Committee of the Center for Global Partnership. He also acts as Governor of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, as a Trustee for the University of Southern California and for Thunderbird, as the Senior Advisor (International) of the Bank of America and presently sits or has sat on the Advisory Boards of Avon, Nike, General Electric Japan, Prudential Asia, and LucasVarity.
