Gil J. Villanueva joined the enrollment management unit at the University of Richmond in July 2009. Prior to his appointment at Richmond, Gil served Brandeis University from 2005 to 2009 as their dean of admission and chief admission officer. From 1997 to 2005, he was at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, as senior associate dean. From 1993 to 1997, Gil was at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, as assistant dean. His professional admission career began at Bucknell in 1992.
Gil earned his B.A. in psychology at Pitzer College in Claremont, California and his M.Ed. degree in Higher Education at Bucknell University. Gil served on the College Board’s Guidance and Admission Assembly Council and served as Secretary for its Southern Regional Council. He is a current member of College Board’s Task Force on Admissions in the 21st Century as well as a member of the Common Application Board of Directors.
