IACS Reception
September 14, 2006
On Thursday evening, the 14th of September, 2006, Ms. Kathleen McCarthy, head of the Thomas & Dorothy Leavy Foundation, and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the University of Southern California, hosted a reception, along with Fr. Lawrence Seyer, and the USC Catholic Community, to welcome Fr. Heft and the Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies to Los Angeles and the University of Southern California. The reception began with the Eucharist, the feast of the Triumph of the Cross, and continued with an impressive program at which Provost of USC, Dr. Max Nikias, spoke about USC's commitment to the Institute and the importance of its mission. Fr. Heft spoke about that mission. We were delighted that so many friends of the Institute were able to attend the evening, including most of the members of the board of trustees of the Institute, who met the next day.
