This section primarily provides information to faculty seeking funds for research involving undergraduate students.

Undergraduate Research Associates Program (URAP) - A varying number of awards of up to $10,000 each to encourage faculty to integrate undergraduates into their ongoing scholarly and professional activities.

Associates Awards for Research and Scholarship - Two $5,000 awards that honor distinguished career achievement by USC scholars. All faculty are eligible.

Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation - Ten $25,000 awards given to Provost-nominated junior faculty who start their first full-time tenure track appointments in the year of the nomination. One nomination per institution by the Provost.

Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards - Twelve $60,000 awards given to junior faculty in the first five years of their academic careers. One nomination by the Department Chair.

Graves Awards in the Humanities - Award that covers sabbatical leave supplements and summer study travel. One nomination by the President.

NEH Summer Stipends - $4,000 awards given to junior and senior faculty and librarians. Three nominations by the Provost, of which one or two must be Assistant Professors.

Packard Fellowships for Science and Engineering - $625,000 awards ($125,000 per year for five years) given to qualifying young faculty in the first years of their science/engineering careers. Two nominations by the President.

Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences - Ten $150,000 awards ($50,000 per year for three years) given to young investigators of outstanding promise in basic and clinical sciences relevant to the advancement of human health. One nomination by the President.

Searle Scholars Program - $180,000 awards ($60,000 per year for three years) awarded to qualifying junior faculty in the first or second year of their first appointment. Two nominations by the Provost.

Alan T. Waterman Award - One award of up to $500,000 for up to three years of research. Departments or individuals may nominate one candidate each. No limit on the number of USC candidates.

James H. Zumberge Research and Innovation Fund - Thee separate Grant Programs, with a total of 20-30 awarded:

Individual Research Grants - Untenured, tenure-track faculty for research seed grants of up to $25,000, with about $250,000 reserved.
Interdisciplinary Research Grants - Faculty of all ranks apply for collaborative grants of up to $50,000. Approximately $250,000 reserved.
Grants for Research Center Proposals - Support for efforts to secure major research centers. Does not exceed $5,000.
