What kind of research do you conduct?

I conduct research on tobacco and substance abuse prevention and treatment programs and am also interested in the evaluation of health promotion programs. I am author of Network Models of the Diffusion of Innovations (Hampton Press, 1995) and Evaluating Health Promotion Programs (Oxford University Press, 2002), and have written over 3 dozen articles and chapters using empirical, mathematical and network approaches to understanding health-related behavior.

In a typical semester, how many undergraduates do you work with? What kind of research activities do the undergraduate students perform?

I work with one undergraduate, who:

* helped me implement a health promotion program

* conducted library research on public health

* helped code mathematical programs for network analysis

What are some of your recent undergraduate projects?

In one recent project, an undergraduate helped create a review of literature on how teachers assign students to groups for in-class projects.
