FacultyRose Hills Foundation Summer 2013 Science and Engineering Fellowships

Grant Period: Summer 2013

I. Overview of the Program

The Rose Hills Foundation, which supports non-profit organizations that serve the citizens of Southern California, has generously provided funding for a limited number of students who would like to obtain Science and Engineering Fellowships in Summer 2013.  Each undergraduate student funded by the program will receive a stipend in the amount of $5000 to support full-time research in science or engineering for a period of not less than eight weeks during the period May 14 through August 14, 2013. All full-time USC faculty engaged in science or engineering research are eligible to serve as faculty supervisors.


II. Eligibility Requirements for Students

  • Enrollment at USC during Fall 2013 as a junior or senior in a program leading to an undergraduate degree in the Life or Natural Sciences or Engineering.
  • USC cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. (Preference will be given to students whose USC cumulative GPA is 3.5 or better.)
  • US citizenship.
  • Residency in Southern California. (A resident of Southern California is defined as a student whose permanent address is south of the Tehachapi Mountains.)

III. Application Process

  • Agreement to file a two-page summary of the completed research project before September 13, 2013.
IV. Timeline

Completed applications should be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Programs in GFS 227 by March 29, 2013. Funding decisions will be announced before mid-April.
