As we enter our tenth exciting year of the Annual Symposium, we have important reminders as they relate to the judging and presentation of projects. Please read this information carefully and prepare accordingly.

Judging
The judging process for this year will provide more time for faculty review. All projects will be reviewed over the course of one day on Tuesday, April 8th, from 9:00am – 5:00pm at Friend's Lecture Hall and Intellectual Commons located at the second floor in Doheny Library. The judging will be closed to presenters and visitors. This process will provide an ample amount of time for judges to carefully review each project at a steady pace. As such, you must bring your project to Friend's Lecture Hall and Intellectual Commons by noon on Monday, April 7th.

Symposium Day Viewing
On Wednesday, April 9th, you will be required to pick up your project from the Friend's Lecture Hall and Intellectual Commons located at the second floor in Doheny Library and bring it to Trousdale Parkway (in front of Bovard Auditorium) for registration and set-up. Friend's Lecture Hall and Intellectual Commons will be open from 8:00am on Wednesday morning. The Symposium viewing will be from 11:00am – 2:00pm. The venue for this year’s Symposium will be Trousdale Parkway.

Awards Ceremony and Reception
In addition to the awards ceremony and presentation of certificates, a reception honoring all student projects will be at a location to be announced. Please invite your faculty sponsor to both the awards ceremony and the reception. The ceremony will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 pm, with the reception immediately following.

Symposium Day
On Wednesday, April 9th, as in years past, students will have an opportunity to present their work (and play parts of their film, music, or act) to the judges, and also answer questions that judges might have after viewing their work from the previous day. Presenters with audio or visual demonstrations and artists with paintings, sketches, and sculptures will display their work on Trousdale Parkway.

Prizes
The cash prizes have been increased for first and second place winners in this year’s symposium. The faculty judges will award one $1000 First Place Prize and one $500 Second Place Prize in each of the five categories. In addition, a $1000 First Prize and $500 Second Prize will be awarded to significant entries that demonstrate interdisciplinary work. These interdisciplinary awards, which will be determined by faculty judges, may be awarded to students in any of the five categories.
