The 9th Annual USC Undergraduate Symposium for Scholarly and Creative Work, held on Wednesday April 11th, featured student exhibits in the categories of arts, humanities, social sciences, life sciences, physical sciences, and math and engineering.
Among the presentations were several recipients of WiSE Undergraduate Research Fellowships including Andrea Cheung (Chemical Engineering '07), Margaret Cass (Biology '07), and Rebecca Gallagher (Geological Sciences '08). Panels of distinguished faculty judge submissions and award $1,000 first prizes and $500 second prizes in each of six categories. More than $10,000 in total prizes is given out.
An awards ceremony recognizing the most outstanding projects takes place at the end of each symposium. The ceremony's keynote address is given by USC Provost C.L. Max Nikias.
