WiSE Program Thanks Carolyn Webb de Macias

Carolyn Webb de Macias, USC Vice President for External Affairs, was the special invited guest to the WiSE Faculty Networking Meeting on April 24, 2008. Carolyn served as Senior Associate Provost at the time the WiSE gift was received by the University in 2000, and was instrumental in working with WiSE faculty and University administration to establish the WiSE Program.

During her visit, Carolyn recounted the early days of planning for the WiSE Program and expressed her appreciation for being part of a program that has become so successful at bringing about an increase in the representation of women in science and engineering at USC. The WiSE Faculty, in turn, expressed their gratitude for Carolyn's insights and leadership in advancing the program's goals in those formative days.

As she prepares to leave USC this Spring, the WiSE Program honors and thanks Carolyn Webb de Macias. Her contributions are manifest in every aspect of the WiSE Program and will long be remembered and appreciated.
