Emerging Themes in Occupational Science Research Cluster
Mission
The mission of occupational science is to develop comprehensive knowledge about humans as occupational beings; specifically about how day-to-day activities (occupations) contribute to a human's quality of life. Occupational scientists are responsible for taking fresh perspectives to explore occupations and from that develop new knowledge that will enhance the lives of individuals and society. Because occupational science is a nascent discipline, occupational scientists will initiate occupational research trajectories that are not presently represented in the political agendas of federal granting agencies. Thus, this research cluster was developed to support and nourish research that addresses relevant ideas that will contribute to the knowledge base of occupational science but which are not yet on federal funding agendas.
