- Developing and Submitting a NIH Grant Application March 24, 2010Steve Moldin, Executive Director of the USC Washington DC Research Advancement Office, and formerly with NIH, directs a workshop on preparing successful proposals for NIH research grants. More Details
- USC Water Retreat
April 02, 2010 This faculty retreat isdesigned to bring together those interested in all aspects of water related research with the aim of identifying USC's strengths, fostering collaboration, and developing strategic recommendations for the university to play a leadership role in this area. The program will feature a limited number of short invites talks by USC faculty in the morning, an afternoon of breakout groups, and an open mike session. The themes will be'water', interpreted very broadly, and will look at the entire hydrologic cycle from depositions to utilization to disposal to reuse, focusing on engineering, biology, and other issues that would foster economics, conservation and reuse in Southern California and beyond.

- Call for Proposals: Research Collaboartion Fund April 15, 2010The Research Collaboration Fund is a new program that supports the creation and development of expansive research collaborations among faculty and students working on broad interdisciplinary research topics, such as water, neuroscience, digital humanities, or the environment. Proposal Review Service: The Office of Research Advancement offers a peer-to-peer proposal review service for applications to external funding agencies. Investigators should notify the office roughly 4 weeks in advance of the proposal due date. Faculty who wish to utilize this service, or volunteer to serve as a mentor, should contact Justin Pearlman at pearlman@usc.edu.
