A workshop on identifying grants, developing proposals, and working with funding organizations.
This program, led by Peter Mancall, professor of History and faculty fellow at the Center for Excellence in Research, will be devoted to strategies that can be used to seek external funding in the humanities and social sciences.
The primary focus will be on the identification of suitable agencies and the crafting of the application, with particular attention on the narrative component of the proposal. The program is recommended for all faculty members, particularly assistant professors and recently tenured associate professors.
The program will concentrate on preparing individual proposals for agencies such as the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Council of Learned Societies, and residential research libraries.
