Research Advancement Courses for Faculty and Researchers
In addition to hosting CER Fellows workshops, The Office of Research Advancement, through the Center for Excellence in Research, collaborates with the Offices of Compliance and Professional Development in training faculty and staff to become more effective in managing and initiating research. Our courses include:

Advancing Social Sciences and Humanities Retreat
The office of the Vice Provost for Research, in cooperation with the Academic Senate, is holding a retreat on "Advancing Humanities and Social Science Research at USC" on March 6, 2009. The retreat aims to help faculty of all ranks build and expand their research activities and increase the impact of their work.

- Developing Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) (Gaurav Sukhatme, Professor of Computer Science, CER Fellow).
- Cellular Imaging Methods in Basic Research (Susan Forsburg, Professor of Molecular and Computational Biology, CER Fellow).
- Grant Opportunities and Proposal Development in the Humanities (Peter Mancall, Professor of History and Anthropology, Director of the USC-Huntington Early Modern Studies Institute, and CER Fellow).
Corporate & Foundation Relations Proposal Writing Tutoring Sessions For Faculty
Linda Zukowski, Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations in University Advancement is offering individual proposal writing tutoring sessions. These 45 minute sessions are for faculty and/or staff who are need of assistance and guidance in writing and editing proposals to private/corporate foundations.
