USC Research - Initiatives

Initiatives

To address critical societal needs, USC has developed a group of initiatives that build collaboration among students and faculty from all of our schools within major research projects. We invest in each initiative, to develop core laboratory facilities, hire exceptional new faculty, and start up new research and educational programs.

This list includes only those USC university-wide research initiatives that are coordinated by the Vice Provost for Research Advancement. A full list of research centers and a directory of research sites for each school and division at USC can be found in the Centers & Facilities section of this site.

The Provost's research initiatives include:

Biomedical Nanoscience

The Biomedical Nanoscience Initiative integrates nanoscience and medicine in order to detect disease at the earliest time, to treat it with the greatest specificity and to restore and regenerate function through the development and deployment of devices, systems and materials at the nanoscale.
