Retreats, Symposia and Workshops
The BISI organizes retreats, symposia and workshops on selected aspects of the Biomedical Imaging Sciences. There were 3 internal retreats in 2005-2006: the first was general, the second focused on small animal imaging and the third on human and large animal imaging. The first workshop organized with extensive national and international participation was devoted to Imaging-based Tools for Target Pharmacokinetics/ Pharmacodynamics: Role in Drug Development and in Drug Monitoring, and was held January 22-24, 2007.
Two internal retreats were held in May and June. The first, which was held May 27, was dedicated to Brain Injury, Recovery and Repair, and was be chaired by Prof. Carolee Winstein (winstein@usc.edu). The second, which was held on June 30, was dedicated to Pharmacokinetic and Mechanistic Imaging, and was chaired by Prof. Walter Wolf. Detailed information on both retreats has been posted on the workshop webpages (links at right).
Further retreats and workshops, both internal and in cooperation with industry, government and national organizations, are being planned for 2008-2009.
Members of the BISI are encouraged to submit proposals to Prof. Walter Wolf (wwolfw@usc.edu) or Ms. Gabby Villanueva (gvillanu@usc.edu)with suggested topics for future focused retreats, symposia and workshops.
