Registration for Thesis 594
and Dissertation 794
You must register for Thesis 594, Dissertation 794 or the equivalent in each term (excluding summer) until you complete and defend your thesis or dissertation, make any post-defense revisions, and submit the thesis/dissertation to the Thesis Editor.
To avoid having to register in Thesis 594, Dissertation 794 or the equivalent, you must complete the following two steps:
Step 1.
Submit all completed and signed thesis/dissertation paperwork in person to The Graduate School by 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on the add/drop date of the relevant semester (fall or spring).
Step 2.
After you receive e-mail notification from the Thesis Editor that you have been cleared, upload your manuscript to The Graduate School website by the semester deadline.
Fall 2008 submission deadlines
Add/drop date: 5 p.m. PST, Friday, September 12, 2008
Uploading deadline: 11: 59 p.m. PST, Friday, September 12, 2008
Spring 2009 submission deadlines
Add/drop date: 5 p.m. PST, Friday, January 30, 2009
Uploading deadline: 11:59 p.m. PST, Friday, January 30, 2009
For Students Who Have Missed
the Fall or Spring Semester Add/Drop Deadline
If you missed the fall or spring semester add/drop deadline, you must register in Thesis 594, Dissertation 794 or the equivalent. You may still be able to graduate in the relevant semester if you complete the following two steps. Please note that failure to meet either deadline will mean that you will no longer be eligible for graduation in that semester.
Step 1.
Submit completed and signed thesis/dissertation paperwork to The Graduate School in person by 5 p.m. PST on Monday, November 3, 2008, for fall semester and Wednesday, April 1, 2009 for spring semester.
Step 2.
After you receive e-mail notification from the Thesis Editor that you have been cleared, upload your manuscript to The Graduate School website by 11:59 PST, Monday, November 3, 2008 for fall semester and Wednesday, April 1, 2009 for spring semester. Any manuscript submitted without clearance will be rejected.
International Students
International students must contact the Office of International Student Services to confirm if they are eligible.
