OBJECTIVES

The objectives of this course are:

Orientation is to the professional accountant who will rely on and make use of computerized accounting systems and computer tools in performing the required tasks of the profession.

FORMAT:

The student is expected to have completed all of the readings, computer work and written work prior to the class meeting for which the topic is assigned. Class attendance is the responsibility of the student. NO makeup exams or late homework is accepted. Spreadsheet and word-processing applications should have been acquired when enrolled in QBA 126 or an equivalent course.

GRADING:

The examinations cover the theoretical material from the text. Format will be announced prior to the exam date,

Grade Points will be assigned as follows:

Exams (2) 30%- (120 points)

Lab Assignments 30%- (120 points)

Comprehensive Computer Problem 20% (80 points)

Case Presentation (oral and written) 20% (80 points)

Final grades will be assigned on the scale, 90k: A-, 80%: B-, 70%: C-, 60%: D, but may be raised if the instructor determines it appropriate. Pluses and minuses will be determined at the discretion of the instructor based on the final distribution of the class point totals.
