Journal And Field Notes:
The Journal will contain your personal reflections relating to the Service Learning Project you are assigned to. The Field Notes will contain your personal observations, plans, expectations and information you prepare as part of the solution to the roject. You can prepare these notes as they relate to your on site visit or while spending time performing the work required for the pro'ect off site. The due dates for these items will be on the Milestone dates as noted on the assignment sheet
Annotated Bibliography: You must annotate (briefly describe) five recent articles that relate of Accounting Information Systems. I know and so do you that our library has a computerized abstracting capability. DO NOT COPY this abstract. You wi 'II lose a letter grade i.e., (B+ to C+; B to C) if you cheat. Your annotation must describe the article that you read and also give your opinion as to the "value" of this article towards increasing your knowledge of the subject are. (For example, would you recommend this article to an associate?) You must turn in a copy of the articles annotated. The content of your annotation will include: (1) as the heading of each of your annotations - the author, title of the article, the journal name, date and volume and serial numbers; and, (2) the annotation of each article will consist of approximately 200 words. Please double space your work. The annotated bibliography is due on March 21, 1995.
GROUP PROJECT: A group Project 'Will be required. This is a Service Learning Project. A separate hand out will provide more detail concerning the project requirements. It will require you to analyze a real problem and recommend and implement a solution. Your job will consist of "selling yourself and your solution to your client." This project will require a mixture of accounting and information systems skills which you have obtained through your class work and experience during your stay in the Sellinger School. Group presentations are required and will take place during the last three weeks of the term.
Grade averages will be converted to letter grades at the end of the course approximately as follows:
% of Total Points
A 93 - 100
A- 89 - 92.9
B+ 86 - 88.9
B 82 - 85.9
B- 79 - 81.9
C+ 76 - 78.9
c 72 - 75.9
C- 69 - 71.9
D+ 66 - 68.9
D 62 - 65.9
F LESS THAN 62
Individual test grades are not scaled. If evidence exist that justifies scaling, then this scaling will occur at the end of the semester. With this policy, I can not tell you precisely what score you need on the final exam for you to achieve a particular letter grade in the course.
