The
10th Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems (WITS2k) will be held in
December 9-10, 2000; Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, just prior to the
International Conference on Information Systems. The purpose the workshop
is to promote discussion and interaction among members of the Information
Systems community with research interests in cutting-edge information
technologies and systems. We are particularly interested in exchanging research
ideas and results that will not only contribute to academic areas, but will
also benefit the business community in the foreseeable future.
The
use of IT in the world of business continues to intensify. Many firms of today
are being radically transformed by information technology and the Internet. As
a firm moves more of its activities into the Internet, its existing information
systems may not remain optimal. The WITS 2K conference theme is
Designing
Information Systems in the e-business era
Contributions
that are rigorous with an underlying model will be encouraged. In addition, we
will also welcome contributions that are rich in business context and provide
insights that may be of direct value to practicing IT professionals. We plan to
ask for contributions that emphasize the provision and management of
Information Technologies (IT) for achieving business goals in firms that are
undergoing (or have recently gone through) an IT/Internet led transformation.
Contributions
may be
Research Papers
Panel Proposals
Research Prototypes (demos).
