Call for Papers

The 8th Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems (WITS'98) will be

held in Helsinki, Finland, December 12-13, 1998, just prior to the

International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS). The purpose of the

workshop is to promote discussion and interaction among members of the

Information Systems community with research interests in cutting-edge

information technologies and systems. We are particularly interested in

exchanging research ideas and results which will not only contribute to

academic areas, but will also benefit the business community in the

foreseeable future. The theme of WITS'98 is Information Technologies in

Support of Business Processes.

TOPICS

We solicit condensed research papers describing original ideas, new

results, novel applications, or "experience reports" describing lessons

learned in the development, operations, and maintenance of actual systems.

The research should address issues concerning the theory, development,

management and application of advanced information technologies and

systems. We also encourage proposals for panels that examine emerging,

innovative, or otherwise provocative issues. Suggested topics include, but

are not limited to:

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

rejected without going through the review process. All submissions,

excluding panel proposals, will be reviewed double blind. Selection for

program committee may select papers as posters in which case the authors

will have to condense them to 5 pages for the conference proceedings.

Authors of selected research papers may be invited to submit complete

versions of their work for possible journal publication after the workshop.
