Abstracts are due by March 31, 1996

As you know, we have been holding these workshops for several years.

We have a new journal, Computational and Mathematical Organization Theory,

with which the workshop is associated. Papers

from this workshop will be considered for a special issue in this

Journal.

The purpose of the workshop is: to present recent

developments in computational and mathematical organization theory, to

determine the critical questions in this field, to present new methods

for testing, building, and analyzing computational and mathematical

models, and to critically explore the role of computational and

mathematical models as both representations of theory and tools for

building theory in organization science.

If you know of interested colleagues or students, please encourage

them to attend and, if interested, to submit a paper. We encourage both

speaking and non-speaking participants to attend. Individual's

interested in presenting a paper should submit an extended abstract (1-4

pages) as a text file via email to Kathleen Carley by March 31.

Topic areas for 1996 include:

Organizational adaptation, the evolution of organizational form,

organizations in changing environments, complexity theory,

organizational learning, dynamic systems, technological change, and

information diffusion within organizations.
