Assistant Professor

American Studies and Ethnicity

University of Southern California. American Studies and Ethnicity invites applications for an Assistant Professor position beginning fall 2008. The department's strengths include comparative analyses of race and ethnicity; theory; politics and economics; culture; and gender and sexuality. We have a growing Ph.D. program as well as lively undergraduate majors and minors. We welcome applications from scholars whose interdisciplinary work focuses on the Chinese Diaspora or the African Diaspora in the Americas or Chicano/Latino American history. Ph.D. required by August 2008. Review of applications will begin October 15 and continue until the position is filled. Non-Tenure Track Lecturer Positions

The Department of American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California seeks to establish a pool of qualified individuals for non-tenure track lecturer positions as needed for the Fall 2007 and/or Spring 2008 terms.

Qualifications: Must have completed the Ph.D. in a relevant field and have previous teaching experience in the subject area. For the 2007-2008 academic year, we expect to hire adjuncts to teach these undergraduate courses. Adjuncts teach no more than two courses per term.
