Dr. Winstein directs the Motor Behavior Laboratory where she conducts behavioral research using psychometric and biomechanical techniques to discern movement-related information processing underlying the preparation, control, and learning of functional motor behaviors in humans. Most recently her research has focused on the nature of change in these behaviors with specific forms of brain damage (stroke, Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer's disease) and the implications this has for recovery and rehabilitation.
