MAJOR FIELD: Medieval Europe

STATUS: Pre-Quals

After completing my BA in History at USC in 2007, I embarked on a two-year foray to Ireland. I received my MA in Medieval Studies from the National University of Ireland, Galway, where my thesis focused on the political ideologies of the Ostrogothic king Theoderic the Great. I'm thrilled to be back at USC to continue my graduate studies. Research-wise, my interests revolve primarily around the barbarian successor kingdoms to the Roman Empire, with specific foci on ethnic identity, political ideologies, and letter writing; as a sidebar, I am also interested in linguistic aspects of Late Latin and its evolution into the various Romance languages. Outside of my historical pursuits, I'm almost completely focused on sports, especially college football. Any questions about graduate studies (or football) are welcomed.
