Welcome to the Math Center

If you want help with your math classes this is the place to come!

The Math Center is located in KAP 116. (KAP is the building that is next to gate #6 and across the street from parking structure A.)  The Center is open on weekdays with the doors opening at 8am and closing when the last Mathematics faculty member or graduate student leaves. This is usually around 6pm or 7pm on Monday to Thursday and around 5pm on Friday.  (The computer room in the Center is open until at least 5pm on Monday to Thursday and at least 4pm on Friday.)

The Math Center is run informally and is designed to be used on a drop-in basis. Graduate students and members of the faculty in the Department of Mathematics are available at various times throughout the day to help you with questions you may have.  It works best to use the Center as a study room. It’s a good place to meet up with your study partners and work on homework. If and as you need help, ask one of the graduate students or faculty members. It’s as easy as that!

Click on consulting hours below to find out when the graduate students are available in the Center to help you. To help you put faces to names, pictures of the graduate students are posted on the wall in the Center. In addition, during their consulting hours, graduate students should have a plastic cone sitting on their table. Notice that the graduate students are listed according to which mathematics class they are assisting, and classes that cover similar material are grouped together. As a first choice try to get help from a graduate student that is assisting a class that is grouped with your class.

If you are having trouble getting the help you need, knock on Cymra Haskell's door. She may be able to help you. Alternatively, see Arnold Deal in KAP 108. He may also be able to help you.

Any comments/questions/concerns about the Math Center should be directed to Cymra Haskell (KAP 116C, chaskell@usc.edu).
