Dr. WILLIAM MAY

William May is Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Southern California. Professor May’s research interests center around ethics, with particular focus given to professional, medical, and business ethics. At USC, Dr. May teaches courses in bioethics, death and dying, and business ethics. He also teaches in the area of religion and contemporary ethical issues.

 

Dr. May has served on three hospital ethics committees. He has over twenty-five years experience with human subject protection committees (IRBs) and he works with the California Medical Association in providing an ethics course for the California Medical Board. His publications include: Beyond Compliance: Business Ethics and the Law; Vatican Authority and American Catholic Dissent: The Curran Case and Its Consequences, and Continuous Quality Improvement in Case Reviews Facilitated by Hospital Ethics Committees.

 

Dr. May received his B.A. from Columbia University and a B.D. and Ph.D. in Social Ethics from Drew University.
