An exhibit that tracks the history of Tijuana and the border from 1848 to present is scheduled to open in September at La Casa del Tunel, a new art and cultural center at the border crossing that once held the entrance to a smuggler’s tunnel to the United States. Michael Dear of the USC College Department of Geography led a team of six undergraduate students to curate the show, titled “Hay Una Linea Que Hizo de un Rancho una Ciudad Global” (loosely translated as: “Once upon a time there was a line that made a global city out of a ranch”).
