Born in Cape Cod, Mass. Raised in Santa Monica, CA. Educated at Humboldt State University & University of Southern California. Ph.D. in English. Professor, Writer, Editor, Administrator.

  • Promotion of Teach for America: coordination of speakers for my classes & helping students to apply to the Program. Promotion of USC events that coordinate with books I teach. For example: "Invisible Children" (orphans in Africa) campus events and film, and the premier of "The Kite Runner" followed by a discussion with the producer. Continuing participation for Breast Cancer Awareness. Parents coming to our classes to share their experiences & insights related to our topics of discussion. Continued activity & promotion of AngeLingo. Attendance at speakers' conferences, especially those related to biomedical ethics., 2007-2008
