OT Learning Facilities The Division takes pride in its comprehensive variety of learning facilities. Most 200, 300, and 500 level and above courses are taught on USC's University Park Campus (UPC) where students are integrated into mainstream campus life. Most 400 level professional courses are taught on the Health Sciences Campus (HSC) where courses in medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, and other health care professions are taught. The following are unique occupational therapy facilities available to students. Center for Health Professions Building (CHP) on HSC Physical Disabilities/Activities of Daily Living Labs (Rooms 113 and 139) Laboratory activities, supervised by experienced clinicians, are conducted in two state-of-the-art facilities that include a complete oversized kitchen, dining area, bedroom, and bathroom area with an array of treatment and adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
Center for Health Profession Auditorium (Room G37 The new large multimedia auditorium has a seating capacity up to 140 occupants and can handle a variety of media using both analog and digital equipment. Computer Lab (Room G36) (IHP) Open 24 hours a day, the Independent Health Professions Computer Lab offers its students approximately 30 PC workstations equipped with CD-ROMs, Iomega Zip drives, and 17" monitors. Printing to an HP LaserJet requires a debit card which is sold at the Norris Medical Library. A scanner, CD/RWs, and a video editing station are also available. All machines have USCnet internet access. The lab is restricted to OT and PT students. Fieldwork Office (Room G34) The office contains files and information on a variety of fieldwork sites affiliated with USC. Students have access to a computer database of over 500 fieldwork sites and a comprehensive collection of student site reports. Skills Lab (Rooms 111 and 112) In this lab students work on leather, woodworking, mosaics, and other arts and crafts activities to learn task analysis, as well as to explore activities that can be used therapeutically. North University Park Center for Occupation and Lifestyle Redesign This is the world's first center dedicated to the study of how everyday activities or "occupations" shape human health and well-being in our society. |
