USC officials announced on Dec. 13 a historic $60 million gift for the Keck School’s division of hematology and the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Fifty-Year Fellow Sol J. Hazan has created a charitable gift annuity to establish the Sol J. Hazan Scholarship Fund at the Keck School of Medicine, which will provide financial aid each year to deserving medical students.

Ronald K. Ross, a respected pioneer in research on the relationship between hormones and cancer and chair of the renowned Department of Preventive Medicine of the Keck School of Medicine, died of brain cancer Friday April 21. He was 57.

More than 400 USC alumni, trustees, faculty, administrators and guest speakers attended the 2004 USC Asia Conference in Seoul, South Korea, in October. “Challenges & Opportunities for Pacific Rim Societies in the 21st Century” brought together experts to discuss key issues facing the Pacific Rim, such as national security, health care, technology, urban development and the economy. .

Anthony El-Khoueiry and Omid Hamid are two of four young physicians chosen after a rigorous and competitive application process to participate in the “Young Investigators” Training Course conducted by SWOG..
