Medical Faculty Wives and Friends
Medical Faculty Wives (MFW) has been in the forefront helping the Keck School of Medicine since 1929, with the present day organization dating back to 1945. In the early days, their energies were devoted to developing a close-knit community for the medical students and their families. In later years, as the need for scholarship support became paramount, MFW began serious fund raising activities in an effort to help fill the scholarship coffers, including organizing the Medical Olympics.
The original eight founders formed an organization that has successfully adapted to the inevitable changes. To that end, in September 1997 membership in the organization was expanded and the name was changed to Medical Faculty Wives & Friends to best reflect its composition.
The organization raises funds annually. Membership dues,
memorial gifts, donations and the Annual Scholarship Dinner
fund endowed and current use scholarship funds.

Parent’s Association
The Parent’s Association of the Keck School of Medicine
of USC was formed to create a connection between parents of
medical students and the School of Medicine. The Association’s
goals are to help make parents comfortable as a family member,
to provide opportunities to see first-hand what their son
or daughter’s medical school experience is like, and
to include them in events in which they might like to participate.
Membership is free and all parents who have signed up will
be on the mailing list for Keck Magazine, which has articles
on the latest news from the Health Sciences Campus. Members
are also invited to the USC Salerni Collegium pre-football
game tailgate events (fee required) held on the main campus,
and have the opportunity to purchase football tickets for
the Homecoming game. Members will also be invited to other
special events and lectures.
The Parent’s Association is currently seeking Board
members to help chart its course and ensure its programs are
in-line with what parents want.
