Due to limited Departmental resources, not all students admitted
to the Ph.D. graduate program in Cell & Neurobiology are
awarded departmental fellowships that pay for tuition and
provide a monthly stipend.
Students in the Department who have begun their dissertation
research, but who do not have extramural fellowships, may
be able to obtain research assistantships or training grants
that provide tuition and competitive stipends.
TEACHING ASSISTANTSHIPS
Students in the M.S. program in Cell and Neurobiology are
allowed to teach. There are a limited number of assistantships
available from the Keck School of Medicine, through the Department
of Cell and Neurobiology, for assisting in the laboratory
instruction components of the medical curriculum courses.
These are available for students dependent on their having
achieved sufficient distinction in the relevant coursework
to warrant their being considered to assist in the teaching
of the course(s), and contingent on the need for teaching
assistants as determined by the course instructors. In addition,
students in the M.S. program in Cell and Neurobiology may
avail themselves of additional teaching opportunities on the
University Park campus and in other courses.
