Mission
To provide accessible, affordable, and culturally sensitve health care, one person at a time.

Vision
To be an integrated health care delivery system for providing quality clinical services, education, and research for the community.

Goal
To contribute to the development of emergency physicians who:

  • are thoroughly versed in the diagnosis, management and appropriate referral of the spectrum of illnesses and injury that present to a typical Emergency Department with particular expertise in the resuscitation and stabilization of all critical emergencies.
  • possess the requisite technical skills needed for the practice of Emergency Medicine.
  • have a practical working knowledge of the dynamic physiological disturbances operant in the critical or unstable patient.
  • can maintain the sensitivity and compassion which characterizes a true physician even in the chaos of Emergency Medicine.
  • have an accurate concept of the interface between Emergency Medicine and the pre-hospital setting as well as its working relationship to other specialties and disciplines.
  • possess appropriate educational, research and administrative skills to pursue careers in medical management and/or academics as well as in clinical practice.
  • we hope to achieve this through extensive supervised clinical experience, graduated responsibility, ongoing directed didactics, periodic counseling, encouragement of clinical research and provision of appropriate role models.
