Division of Community Health
The USC Department of Family Medicine,
Division of Community Health is devoted to promoting the health
of communities, particularly those populations that are underserved
by the health system.
The Division provides technical consulting
to assist with the planning, delivery, and evaluation of health-related
community programs. The Division's projects incorporate three
facets of community health: 1) program evaluation 2) planning
& technical assistance and 3) community and policy development.
The Divisions research areas include access to health
care, consumer health advocacy and assistance, community-based
providers, the health care safety net, and innovations in
community planning and development.
The Division pools the extensive expertise of USC faculty
and researchers with backgrounds in health services administration,
evaluation, health education, statistics and population studies.
The Division also contributes to the education and training
of future researchers by providing opportunities for research
experience to undergraduate and graduate students.
Our programs are funded by various
sources including Alliance Healthcare Foundation, The California
Endowment, California HealthCare Foundation, Haynes Foundation,Weingart
Foundation.
