The San Diego Business Healthcare
Connection Evaluation
The San Diego Business Healthcare Connection (BHC) provides
small businesses in San Diego with education, assistance,
resources, and information about public and private health
insurance. Starting April 2002, the BHC was funded by The
California Endowment for an initial 18 months to build organizational
capacity, develop educational materials, and test outreach
strategies. The USC Division of Community Health is conducting
a process and outcomes evaluation. The evaluation includes
follow-up interviews with small businesses that have received
services from BHC; guided interviews with private insurance
brokers who are partnering with BHC; and key informant interviews
with business and healthcare community partners and stakeholders.
