Study of Private
Physicians’ Care for
Uninsured Individuals
This telephone survey of 93 private
practice physicians in the Metro Service Planning Area (SPA)
of Los Angeles County was developed, conducted and analyzed
by the Division of Community Health. The survey results highlight
the notable role of private physicians in caring for uninsured
individuals and private physicians’ contribution to the
safety net in Los Angeles County.
