Community & Migrant Health Center
Training Program
The Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center offers education
and training programs and workshops designed for staff at
federally funded Community and Migrant Health Clinics, as
well as for Community clinics serving minority or disadvantaged
patients.
Our education and training programs are designed to address
educational needs identified or requested by the clinic. Therefore,
a needs assessment is generally first conducted for the clinic
or agency requesting training, with educational interventions
appropriate to needs identified. Educational programs may
also include skill-building workshops.
There is normally no cost to clinics or participants for
this training. The Pacific AETC receives funding from the
U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to
provide education and training services for healthcare professionals.
We can provide CME credit through the Keck School of Medicine
of the University of Southern California
We will design a training experience based on your clinic
need. Examples of presentation topics include:
- HIV Risk Assessment
- Rapid HIV Testing
- Acute primary HIV infections
- Primary Care and HIV
- Women and HIV
- HIV and Teens
- Opportunistic infections
- Medication Adherence
- Cultural Competency
- HIV and Transgendered Individuals
- Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)
