STANDARDIZED PATIENT PROGRAM - GOALS


    Goals
  • Enable learners to develop skills in interviewing, clinical reasoning, and patient-physician interaction/communication.
  • Maintain a conducive, non-threatening learning environment.
  • Provide SP feedback to learners, both verbal and written, on communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain SP quality and standardization through monitoring and feedback.
  • Develop learning materials for SPs
  • Conduct collaborative research.
  • Collaborate with course directors in case development.
  • Provide feedback to the curriculum in areas of clinical performance.
  • Provide student performance data and reports to Associate Deans, the Curriculum Committee, faculty and students as appropriate.
  • Review item analyses of OSCE and CPX checklists.
