The Teaching and Learning Fellowship is offered to academic physicians who are engaged in teaching. The primary goals of this fellowship are to provide participants with multiple ways to teach and evaluate learners effectively. Additionally, fellows will learn to design educational experiences and to deal effectively with learners in difficulty.

Fellows will attend 5 intensive seminars on Friday(noon to 6 pm), Saturday(8 am to 5 pm) and Sunday(8 am to noon) and the Innovations in Medical Education Conference in 2007. Programs will explore:

  • Developing Curriculum
  • Improving the lecture and small group discussions
  • Teaching in a clinical setting
  • Using cases to teach
  • Identifying learners in difficulty and dealing with issues
  • Using standardized patients to teach
  • Implementing problem-based learning
  • Evaluating Learners
  • Designing educational research

Fellows will present educational research projects at the Innovations in Medical Education Conference.
